I have a dream for 'The Maureen Corps' a social network for Maureens. Just Maureens. Only Maureens. There is some exclusivity to this space on the web unlike MySpace with it's one zillion plus member and still climbing count.

I was introduced to social network by Jim Lee. Ooooooh two first names.. anyone who has read the I have a dream series on The Maureen Corps may realize it is dream about names.. Maureen, Jim. TED, Pat, Todd, Bonnie, Martin (as in Martin Luther King) and Rodney as in (Rodney King.) and I guess even Ntsike. Or maybe reading the series I have a dream that has not become apparent so here I am giving you a clue...

Jim Lee invited me to ActiveRain Real Estate Network in July 2006. I remember his email... Jim Lee did not describe what ActiveRain was. Jim Lee did not mention blogging.. I was already bloggging on RealTown Blogs... I thought ActiveRain was a way to promote my blog...when I got done inviting everyone I could think to in my address book Jim Lee sent me an email and said "Start blogging!" Good thing I nejoy blogging...

I think of Jim Lee as Jim Lee because Jim is such a common name. I met Jim Lee on a ListServ run by the RealTown folks called RealTalk. Pre Web 2.0 RealTalk has been around since sometime in the dark ages... early to mid 90's? Jim Lee was not the only Jim on RealTalk. I participated on RealTalk for a couple of years and learned a lot.

Strangely people who were not named Jim could become JIMs and I was awarded that honor in 2006 (?) I became a member of NAJ, National Association of JIMs.

Darn I was going to link to an ActiveRain post about JIM but it is Members Only (I think of members Only as Mo.)

Here's an old, old buletin board with the history of JIM and an album of JIMs not updated for years but hey nice people from the internet have started adding links... Something tells me Asian3Girls is not a JIM or a link I'd want to click on...
