The Maureen Corps

The few, the proud, the Maureens.

"I have a dream" is a quote of Martin Luther King of course.. his famous speech. I got very concerned after writing "I have a dream" on 'The Maureen Corps' that I was being disrespectful to Rodney King or Ntsike... or that I was being politically incorrect...
I hopped in the shower after writing "I have a dream" on The Maureen Corps. I thought about hopping out and unpublishing it, dripping wet.... I sometimes wonder why some people are so scared of blogging and social networking. And sometimes I understand completely.

What started the "I have a dream" idea for me was reading something by Todd Carpenter on Lenderama which lead me to Pat Kitano on Transparent Real Estate
Must see video from the TED conference

My long term dream for "The Maureen Corps" to approach the authority of TED. Pat Kitano blogged about TED, Todd Carpenter did a post about Pat blogging about TED.
TED... wow the TED's of the world have a great little site there. Lots of Google Authority.. Of course I am joking I have heard of TED but I don't know if I ever looked to see what it stood for. It just made me think of The Maureen Corps.

I joked about blog evangelists on one of my real estate blogs once and mentioned a local Christian evavngelist a friend blogging Bonnie commented:

Jul. 25, 2006 - re: That is so Web 2.0 Posted by Bonnie Erickson
Evangelist is now a blog term. You'll love the search results when you "Google it". Either you knew already and were exercising that dry wit of yours, or (for once) I knew something you didn't! Bonnie

My dry wit. I said I was going to drop the last e in Maureen in the post too and no one took that serious... I wrote about Moe and Mo... That post about web 2.0 was a precursor to "The Maureen Corps."
Todd Carpenter who lead me to Pat Kitano's post about TED, by blogging about Foghorn Leghorn...once wrote that I'd called him a blog evangelist.. I don't remember it but I am sure I meant that Todd was an evangelist in the nicest way. But enough about Todd this is about TED. "TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design. TED started out (in 1984) as a conference bringing together people from those three worlds. Since then its scope has become ever broader."

1984 wow! I probably did not know there was technolgy in 1984. I sure was not involved with it in 1984...

My short term dreams for The Maureen Corps? A fourth and fifth member... My long term dreams? Loftier!

Stay tuned for I have a dream III when we leave TED behind and return to JIM... on my blog on 'The Maureen Corps.'
